Q1 2021 Snapshot: Fitness App Performance in Australia on Android

Australia's Fitness and Weight Loss enthusiasts have been actively engaging with top apps on the Android platform during the first quarter of 2021. Sensor Tower provides a detailed peek into the performance trends of these applications.

MyFitnessPal: Calorie Counter saw its revenue fluctuate, starting at around $24K in the last week of December and peaking at approximately $31K in early February before descending to about $21K by the end of March. Downloads showed a declining trend from around 6K to 3.5K, while weekly active users began with roughly 43K and rose to about 52K, but then dropped back to 47K.

Fitbit experienced a decrease in revenue from approximately $27K to $14K, with a mid-quarter spike to $22K. Downloads dipped from around 9K to 3.6K. The app's weekly active users remained relatively stable, starting at 154K and ending the quarter near 151K.

Strava: Run, Bike, Hike showed revenue trends that began at $16K, dipped to $12K, and then climbed to a high of $23K in early March, eventually settling at nearly $15K. Downloads started at about 4.3K, with a peak at 5K, and then a decrease to 2.3K. Weekly active users saw a slight increase from 99K to 109K over the quarter.

For Garmin Connect™, which does not report revenue, downloads decreased from 7.6K to 2.3K. Its weekly active users showed a more positive trend, increasing from 298K to 305K throughout the quarter.

Lastly, Weight Loss Walking: WalkFit had varied revenue, peaking at $5.2K in early March after a low of $1.4K in mid-January. Downloads saw a decline from 5.8K to 1.4K, while weekly active users experienced a surge from 19K to 21K, followed by a decrease to around 10K.
